Jenome - “The Further Adventures of Radio Doom” EP

Just days before MADNICE homie Jenome steps up to support DJ Format in the Hold this Friday he drops his latest piece of artistry in the form of “The Further Adventures of Radio Doom” EP - and my god it does NOT disappoint. We were given a sample of the 3rd track “Control” a few weeks ago and we knew instantly that Jenome was gonna come correct with this beast. 

The latest offering from Jenome is described as, “The sewing together of musical history to create sound wormholes within the moment. Built using a combination of space age technology, deleted vibration tools, extreme listening, blindfolded timing, catacomb exploring and various vinyl clusters.”

Jenome is a producer and DJ based in Liverpool. In 2007 Canteen Records released the track “Lost Colours” on the compilation “Welcome to the Canteen” which featured some of the UK’s finest Hip Hop artists of the last 20 years. Jenome is influenced by space, time, multi dimensions, painting, poetry, robots, cats and music - producing a unique Science Fiction style boom bap hip hop that is handy for a good bounce or a modicum of pondering on the sofa.

“Jenome samples a lovely mix of dusty old records from ’60s Jazz to Spoken Word, adds his Hip Hop drums and a good measure of space echo to create a sound that makes you want to smoke something!” - DJ Format.

MADNICE Marauders presents… MR THING / DANNY DRIVE THRU / BOLTS / KWINZOLA

94 days after we caused Dilla madness, 63 days after bringing Kutmah & Fingathing back to Liverpool, and the small matter of a gig at Chbuku’s Birthday weekend, the MADNICE crew returned once again to bring the instinctive travels & paths of hip-hop & beats in the form of DMC Champ DJ MR THING, DANNY DRIVE THRU, & our own fam BOLTS & KWINZOLA. People are beginning to recognise that slamming Hip-Hop is back in this city with the added dose of the illest beats all powered by Funktion 1 sound in that beautiful basement in the Shipping Forecast. Once again shit got real down there with the homies Kwinzola and Bolts coming correct as always and Danny Drive Thru bringing the heavy beat action to leave the beat fiends buzzing. With the terribly sad news that day of the passing of Adam Yauch aka MCA of Beastie Boys fame, it was left with the legendary MR THING to drop the illest hip-hop set to end the night which featured a dope Beastie Boys mix to honour the late, great Adam Yauch. It was a fitting tribute, done in MADNICE style.
